POOL PARTY!

Filed under: Uncategorized — by Rora @ 1:11 am

YAY! My pool is finally finished and completely awesome! So.. I’m having a pool warming party!

Most of the old OC group are coming and hopefully we’ll have a lot of fun. I can’t wait to see everyone again, haven’t seen them since Jo’s birthday party. I can’t help wishing we had a floatie mattress thingy (technical term) for the pool. :P

Hopefully I’ll get some photos.

Lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala! Sorry, hyperness!

So at the moment I’m working on my board games about changes, challenges, obstacles and strategies to overcome them blah blah. I mean how are we supposed to get a good from that. I’m looking for a nice convenient object to stencil around…
I think I’ll have to make do with a mini rubix cube. I’m averaging 1 1/2 squares a minute.

Just read the  Mortal Instuments Trilogy by Cassandra Clare. Amazing. Anyway I won’t give any spoilers but don’t be put off by the first book. Jo is almost done reading them too.

Ok done drawing squares. 44 of them.

Ok pool party in 20 mins! Bye!

Shakespeare, Random Facts and Pointe Shoes

Filed under: Uncategorized — by Rora @ 9:10 am

Hehe, well I’ve just been writing some more on my book, so I guess it’s time to blog.

First of all: Shakespeare. In English, we read A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which is amazingly short. It’s also amazingly hard to find a monologue in, which is why Leesh and I are doing a duologue. Typically I’m the boy. The scene we’re doing is the one where Lysander has just had the juice poured on his eyes, to be woken by Helena and fall madly in love with her. You know, right before the catfight scene. My english teacher Mrs Palgan is so funny, my class always teases her because of this very dirty phrase book she has on her desk with little pictures. Someone always changes it before she comes in, which results in a lot hysterical laughter of course.
Anyway, Leesh and I are meeting up tomorrow to work on it. I already bought a floppy plastic sword, xD. I’m going to her trampolining competition right before so I can see her do double minis, and brownies and who know what else.

And because I love random facts. here are a few I randomly know:

  • Breathing in makes you jump higher. (Always very handy with grande jetes)
  • half the girls in my class ah-dore Twilight, 1/3 hate it and the other people either don’t care or like spinning around in circles. (LIKE ME!)
  • A lot of people don’t know what pointe shoes are… (that’s just sad)
  • An average person spends 2 weeks of their life waiting for traffic lights.
  • I hate sesame seeds.
  • My school is NOT sporty.
  • Ariel Moore left the Clique Girlz

I GOT POINTE SHOES! YAY! They hurt but they’re awesome. I luffy them. YAY!

And here’s a photo. Pointe Shoes!

Note I’d only had my pointe shoes for a few hours.

This is the time I tell you it’s the end of January so I’m writing something

Filed under: Uncategorized — by Rora @ 9:25 am

Ok, it’s the end of January and i haven’t written so here goes, I mean I have loads of excuses, but mostly I’ve just been kinda lazy. So HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

So a few days after new year I headed off to California. The plane flight obviously was awful, since it was a day flight which means no naptime. Aw. Anyway I got to see City of Ember which was alright but a bit had to follow, though I admit I wasn’t paying strict attention.

For the first time we stayed in a hotel instead of cramping into the grandparents place, (for me that means no more sleeping on a half-inflated air mattress so you can see why I was excited). I got to meet their new dog, a cute little guy called Rollie. However within ten minutes of arriving grandma fell. We panicked when she found she couldn’t move and called an ambulance. Dad and grandpa went with them and mom and I were left waiting for the phone to ring. Turned out grandma had broken a bone in her pelvis and was coming home for bed rest for 6 weeks. This started other problems, she got terrible leg cramps and had to have an MRI for her ankle which was dislocated. Poor grandma now has a heavy cast on her leg and a prescription of 12 weeks bed rest.

This all panned out over three days. The second day my adorable and annoying nieces came down with Austin and Stephanie to join the party. Hooray! My parents spent their time with grandma and at the hospital, sadly missing out on the aquarium and the zoo. But I had a great time. My nieces are a lot of fun. So it was a pretty disappointing first leg, even worse for my grandparents though.

The next leg was lots of fun! We flew up to San Fransisco for a conference from my parents. Anyway it was lots of fun. We went to lots of places. I have some photos so I’m going to put them in since I can’t be bothered to talk about it even though it was awesome and the food was great and stuff.

Boudin bakery, Ghiradelli chocolate, yum yum!

Yeah anyway it was fun.

And then I had International Summer School at McDonald college which was awesome!

And then omg! HIGH SCHOOL! Hornsby Girls High School is great so far. Even though I’ve got homework already. I’m not in class with any of my Beecroft friends but I am in a class with Alicia so I’m super happy! And the best news! Izzy got it so she’ll be starting on Monday! Yay!

I’m going on the train to and from school and I’m not sure about ballet and how I’m getting there. I have lots of young teachers and lots of  pale teachers. They all seem pretty nice. I’ve met some yr 8s I know so it’s cool and I’ve made friends. So anyway yay for high school!

A La Seconde Turns!

Filed under: Uncategorized — by Rora @ 5:27 am

I can do (pretty bad) a la seconde turns now! I’m so happy, because they are so awesome. Unless you can do them or fouttes, or triple pirouettes then you have no idea how it feels to just be, well, turning around and around. It’s so amazing. Until you fall over.
Sadly I’m doing quite a bit more falling then turning but with practice I’ll get better. Hopefully.

Anyway I’m off to make chocolate chip cookie, though this time out a packet.

Update:

I have photos, of my cookies and are dinner. Which was me being quite strange artistically. Tomorrow we have a fancy dinner. Oh and some photos of my dad and the christmas tree.

Actually photos aren’t working but I’ll get them up eventually!

Merry christmas!

Btw my photos decided to go really random, but, yeah.

Twilight at Twilight

Filed under: Uncategorized — by Rora @ 7:44 am

I’m writing my review of Twiight at twilight, how fitting.

I went to see Twilight at Rhodes with Alicia, her mom and brother.

My expectations: An ok movie, maybe not so great actors, cory lines, bad shots.

Recieved: A brilliant movie, close to the plot, better fight scenes than in the book, good actors, corny lines, brilliant shots.

The scenery was AH-MAZING. Really beautiful, dusky colours, greenery and trees, mist and rain.
The acting was pretty good too, just a few lines that sounded weird.
Plot kept very well to the book , and the fight scenes were much better and more visually enhanced than the ones in the book.

And I love LOVE LOVE! The actors for Alice and Jacob. So amazing, exactly how I imagined them only better because they’re real.

Overall rating 4.5/5, I might even buy it with the MEG money I got from today.

Yay for Twilight!

Alicia’s guinea pigs are so adorabubble! And tiny, at 4 weeks they’re smaller than when I got my little squeakies. One of them peed on my shirt.  Rosie, the mega obese piggy who’s heavier than the two babies put together pooped on Alicia’s bedroom floor. Plus I made them into edible  art (sort of) with lettice leaves.

Tomorrows Christmas eve and I’m making more edible art. Hopefully I’ll get a picture.

Oh and p, gb, rkb, c and ps. :)

High school is coming closer everyday.

Shopping with Alicia and HSM3

Filed under: Uncategorized — by Rora @ 9:37 am

Ok so yesterday I had an awesome time shopping at Macquarie with Alicia. Without parents shopping is actually fun I’ve found. This is what I’ve got my parents, since they won’t read this. (I hope!)

Dad: made a giant collage for his work wall with photos of the family and pets and guitars, Casino Royal DVD and a photo frame with a picture because parents weirdly like that stuff.

Yesterday i got him Die Another Day but found he had it so this morning we exchanged it.

Mom: Sponge bag because she needs one for like travel and stuff and a small one that came with it, frame with photo like dad and a necklace i made.

And tonight I wrapped everything and it’s all safely stowed under my bed.

Just a note. Does anyone know how Santa can be in so many malls at once! it’s shocking! I think they must have really advanced technology in the North Pole, so they can make really good simulacra or however you spell it.

And of course today 14 of us went to see HSM3. It was really funny. Jo and I kept talking about some very serious issues we had with the story but it was fun to watch. I’m not that into it but it was so much fun to go with friends. Plus we had BOOST smoothies (YUM!) and Sunchit had popcorn and Daniel had chocolate! YUM AGAIN!

We were loud too. But it was fun for us, if not so much the other people in the theatre. Sorry other people!

Oh and Jo’s mom was wonderful and put up with us, though she didn’t come into the movie. Thanks to her too.

Christmas Eve in 2 days! And then christmas! And then a christmas party (which will be boring, sine it’s all adults which is why it doesn’t get an exclamation mark.).

Can’t wait!

And I hope I can see everyone again soon.

Christmas is Coming

Filed under: Uncategorized — by Rora @ 9:13 am

I put up the tree today and put lotsa tasteful stuff on it. Yay! We’ve made a christmas shrine with the stockings, santa hats, christmas cards and these big red chinese thingies.

I’ve been dancing either to the Clique Girlz or christmas music. Yay! So much fun, I’ve got a few more tricks down, jumps and stuff. I can’t wait top get my new leotards and crop top for christmas in 5 days!

Right now i’m watching Eloise at Christmas Time. It’s not as good as the first one.

Tomorrow i’m going xmas shopping with Alicia, and no parents. Should be fun!

Then on Monday it’s off to see High School Musical 3 with the gang. Lots of us are going on the train, just like as if we were going to high school.  Yay!

Lalala, oh and I practiced my singing but I probably won’t stay up much for the carols in the DOMAIN.

Anywayz Louisa showed me the Charlie the Unicorn videos with the Bana King and Candy Mountain. Funny!

Yay for christmas!

Goodbye Beecroft

Filed under: Uncategorized — by Rora @ 7:01 am

Sad day. Writing brief. Just so sad. High school. Scary. Exciting. Weird. nerve wracking.

Viva la Vida. Listening now. More memories. I’m Yours. Slide show.

Song. Touch the Sky. Mrs Keating conducting. Tori on piano. Boys on high notes. Kinda sad :P

Anyway, it’s sad to leave everyone behind. i cried a bit, especially when I hugged mrs L at the end.

Cya Jo, Amy, Linda and maybe Izzy next year at Hornsby.

For everyone else as Patrick put it “We’ll have twelve reunions every year.”

And just because, Jake once owned a pet monkey, Chloe thinks jumping out of a plane without a parchute is fun and Vincent can’t make a convincing lie.

Thanks for the horns Izzy they’re adorabubble (as the bestest teacher ever always says) and mine haven’t broken yet.

Oh and for the record I’m 13 in less than two months! And if the pool was done i’d have a pool party. Only I bet it won’t be, stupid council.

Leaving, might be a beginning but it sucks.

On the bright side Louisa and Betty have gmail (and horns) so now we can stay in touch.

Farewell and Coffs Harbour

Filed under: Uncategorized — by Rora @ 10:46 am

I guess this will end up being a pretty long post since I have photos and stuff to put in that I hope everyone will appreciate.

So, the farewell. Oh my god.
Everyone went to my house after school to get ready and it was awesome! We did handstands and a few people showered. Then I helped Jo with her costume, she wore some leggings I made in Yr 3 too help with the evil fairy thing. She looked great.
We all got dressed and the costumes were all really good. Linda came, as Puss in Boots also looking great until Chloe got to her with the orange facepaint. Luckily it came off! Now for a list of everyone and what they were so fashionably wearing. :P

Betty: As Wendy, a pretty turquoise dress.

Amy: Minnie Mouse, cue white dress with black spots and some pretty awesome shoes. Her characters with a lot of pink tissue paper and sticky tape!

Isobel: Cinderella in  rags, white and brown rags, classic yet original.

Chloe: A Knight, thins rented thing, chain mail which was apparently quite itchy and a sword.

Linda: Puss in Boots, boots (duh!) with fur around the edges, sword, cool hat with feather.

Jo: Vidia some evil fairy, purple top and skirt with black leggings cut raggedly from knee to ankle in like rags kinda.

Sharon: Edna, Black pinnafore and pants and a badge that said Edna that Izzy made.

Me: Aurora/Sleeping Beauty, Pink dress that mom made, I’ll get a photo when i can. I had my grandmas camio pin too and my hair out.

So after we got dressed we did hair! I volumised Shaz’s and Jo’s and did Betty’s as well. Tried Linda’s but it turned out pretty bad so she ended up doing it really.

Then suddenly we didn’t have much time and I was hurrying to do everyone’s makeup because for some reason, i ended up doing it all. Oh well, everyone looked good anyway, though mostly i just put mascara on people. When I’d done everyone, they wanted to leave but i hadn’t one my hair and makeup yet. luckily Shaz and Izzy kept everyone from dashing up the street, they were that excited. In the rush I forgot my rose but mom, thank goodness, rushed back for it and we all ran up the street.

We got there in plenty of time so we needn’t have worried. Everyone had put much more effort into their costumes than I thought. It was so colourful! And there were quite a few people who had the same costume. I have to give highly commended costumes to Rose (amazing Edna costume) and Aisha (beautiful Tinkerbell costume, even if she kept dragging balloons as she danced because they got stuck to her wings.) There were so many great costumes tah I’d be here for much longer than I should be describing them.

In the end it was a bit of an anti-climax after all the build up the farewell got. The first partner dance we did, saw me, Betty and Chloe without partners so we did our own awesome, rock n roll circle! Turns out the boys were on the other side doing their own demented version. The food was gross, since it was hotdogs. Believe me you do not want to try a vegetarian hotdog. They look like rubber and I can bet you a million dollars they taste like rubber too!

Oh well, the decorations were still amazing and it was fun just being with my friends. However by the end of the night I had a headache, so I made a pretty quick exit when it was time to go.

Oh and a not on the teachers costumes. Mr S was Mickey Mouse, so he went with Amy (and quite a few other girls.) The three female teachers were cards from Alice in Wonderland.

Kate (Izzy’s mom) took photos with Wing and they were Mickey and Minnie too. Popular costumes! Peter Pan was also very popular but only Betty was Wendy so I guess they had a lot of fighting to do as she looked so pretty!

So yeah, the farewell. And now it’s sunk in. THIS IS OUR LAST WEEK OF PRIMARY SCHOOL! Ooh and we get our signature bears and yearbook!

Now about Coffs Harbour.

I’m getting tired so I’ll just upload a lot of photos and that will be that.

Resort Photos:

Pet Porpoise Pool:

I was kissed by a seal but dad got a headless photo, I have a professional one though. Was kissed by a dolphin too and saw a dolphin and seal show. So cute! Then we got to pet the dolphins and feed turtles and seals. Oh and if you’ve ever wondered what the other side of a peacock looks like…

Yeah so it was fun!

G2g Bed. School tomorrow!
